I'm gonna take a guess and say 0 because otherwise you're using the Quadratic formula. 

 

 

AKA:\(x = {-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} \over 2a}\)

The discriminant is given by  :   b^2 - 4ac     where b = 7,  a = 1 and c = 2....so we have....

 

7^2 - 4(1)(2)   =  49 - 8  = 41    and since this is > 0, we have two real solutions....
