I need to determine the quotient, \(Q\), using synthetic division:

\({h^3+2h^2-3h+9 \over h + 3}\)

Here's my work:

I got \(Q(h) = {h^2 + 5h +12}\) when the textbook has an answer of \(Q(h) = {h^2-h}\).

What did I do wrong?

That  '3'   right past the    e)   should be    - 3
