if 2 forces are perpendicular to each other .If one of them is 10N and other is 5N then find the resultant and also the angle between 10N and resultant.

Since we can position the vectors in any convenient manner....Let one vector = ( 10, 0) and the other = (0, 5)

This will allow for an easy way to calculate the angle between the resultant and the 10N vector

The resultant = √ [10^2 + 5^2 ] = √125 = 5√5 N

The angle between the 10N vector and the resultant =

tan θ = 5/10

arctan (5/10) = θ ≈ 26.6°
