In an after school program for juniors and seniors, there is a debate team with an equal number of students from each class on the team. Among the 28 students in the program, 25% of the juniors and 10% of the seniors are on the debate team. How many juniors are in the program?

This doesn't make sense because it says an equal number from each class are on the team which should mean that it's 14 for each, but that's not an answer choice.

There are 28 students in the program

   the program has a debate team made of = seniors juniors

                   soooo   25% of the juniors = 10% of the seniors

                                    .25j = .1s       and    j+s = 28

                                                                    s = 28-j

                                     .25 j = .1(28-j)

                                      .25j + .1j = 2.8

                                      .35j = 2.8

                                           j = 8                   8 juniors are in the program
