You have to work out the 2 solutions for x, then you can factor it in the form of: y = a(x-x1) + (x-x2)
The English is:
Convert this from vertex form to factored form
-3(x-1)^2 + 27
= -3(x^2 - 2x + 1) + 27
= -3x^2 + 6x - 3 + 27
= -3x^2 + 6x + 24
= -3(x^2 - 2x - 8)
= -3(x-4)(x+2)
