There is a rectangular prism (box) 2 ft X 4 ft X 8 ft filled with water. If enough water is taken out of this box to fill a cylinder with a height and radius of 1 ft each, what, in terms of pi, is the remaining volume of water in the box?

         Volume of prism: (2)(4)(8) = 64 ft^3

 -       Volume of cylinder: (pi)(1^2)(1) = pi

---------------------------------------------------------

Volume of water left in prism: 64 - pi ft^3
