I think that you have made a mistake writing down your equation because it has 2 equal signs.
Maybe you mean
6x-7 = x+3 (I'll do this one)
The idea is to get all the lots of x off one side and all the stand alone numbers onto the other side.
I can get rid of the x on the right hand side by taking it away. (take away from both sides)
6x-7-x = x+3-x
5x - 7 = 3
now i can add 7 to both sides.
and then you can think about what to do next.
