A skill is the ability, coming from one's knowledge, practice, aptitude, etc., to do something well and then transfer it, or pass on to somebody else who doesn't have that skill. Example: if you are very skilled at swimming, you can transfer or pass it on, by teaching it, to somebody else who does not know how to swim....etc.....etc......etc.
