hi Jace,

 y=-2x-4

 y=-2*x-4

 

if x=0 then  y=-2*0-4=0-4=-4

if x=1 then  y=-2*1-4 = -2-4=-8

etc

 

Can you see how I am doing the substitution ?

its the vaiable, TR.. you know the linear equation is y = mx+b..

m = the slope

x = variable

b = the y-intercept
