Ways of determining slolutions to the equation

I was working on a review sheet for my math, and the problem I -2n-1 I = 7. There were two answers for the problem: 3 and -4. I figured out how to solve for three, but don't know how to solve to get 4. Anyone willing to fill me in?

solve: -2x-1 = 7 and -(-2x-1) = 7

-2x-1 = 7
-2x-1+1 = 7+1
-2x = 8
-2x/-2 = 8/-2
x = -4

-(-2x-1) = 7
2x+1 = 7
2x+1-1 = 7-1
2x = 6
x = 6/2
x = 3
