To "simplify" an expression is just saying so solve (turn it into an equasion instead of an expression) so, you need to pick a number ( that number will be the length)and multiply by eight so that is exactly eight times larger than its length.
Example:
4 units =width (w)
Expression: 4x8
Simplifed Expression: 32 units
