Order of operations is the order in which you solve an equation.  The order is parentheses, exponents, multiplication/division, addition/subtraction, or PEMDAS.  (A way to remember the order:  Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally).

PEMDAS means that if, for example, you have 2*(1+3), you do 1+3 before you do 2*1 because there are perentheses around the 1+3.

The order in which the following is solved is as followes:

1-3*4+72/9-6^2*3+(5-1)+3+8-2=

First we deal with everything in P:

1-3*4+72/9-6^2*3+4+3+8-2=

Next we deal with E:

1-3*4+72/9-36*3+4+3+8-2=

Then MD, in the order of which they appear:

1-12+8-108+4+3+8-2=

And finally, AS in the order they appear:

-11+8-108+4+3+8-2=

-3-108+4+3+8-2=

-111+4+3+8-2=

I hope this helps!

The order of operation is the order of how to solve a mathmatic question.

Meaning, it is the order of which operation you do first (opertaion is like: add, substract, multipy, divide, etc...)

Search it for the rules
