Hi, I need help with this one question:

What are the coordinates of the hole in the graph of the function f(x)?

f(x) = x^2+4x-12 / x-2

f(x) =  (x^2+4x-12) / ( x-2 )

This will be undefined (have a hole )  for the x value  that gives the form  0/0

Factor the numerator

[(x + 6) (x - 2) ] / (x - 2)

Nothe that when  = 2, we will have the form  0/0

So.....to find the y coordinate of the hole,  cancel the ( x - 2) factors and sub  2  into  x + 6

So.....the coordinate of the  "hole"  is    (2 , 2 + 6)  =  (2,8)

cool cool cool
