-32 x = -4      diviede both sides of the equation by - 32

x = 4/32 = 1/8

Egad....misread the Q !   D'Oh! surprise

Here is a solution:  ( rather than just an answer)

xy = -32

x+y = -4     or  y = -4 -x     sub this into the first equation to get

x ( -4-x) + 32 = 0

-x^2 -4x + 32 = 0        now, you can factor.....or use the Quadratic Formula

    with a = -1  b = -4   c = 32          to find  the numbers are   4 and  -8

\(x = {-(-4) \pm \sqrt{(-4)^2-4(-1)(32)} \over 2 (-1)}\)

The numbers are –8 and +4.

Check answer:    Multiply     (4) • (–8)  =  –32

                            Add          (4) + (–8)  =  –4

.
