It is 1 C 1

It means how many ways can you choose one thing from one.

The answer is 1.

it could also be a vector.

It depends on the context.

I guess this stand for a vector.The problem I am doing is find the general solution to the system of equations.

dx/dt=x+2y

dy/dt=y+2x

It was a multiple choice question,and one of the anwsers is

\(X=c1*\begin{pmatrix} 1\\ -1 \end{pmatrix}{e}^{3t}+c2\begin{pmatrix} -1\\ 3 \end{pmatrix}{e}^{-t}\)

What do you think is it now?

(You dont have to help me solve the system of equations.It is one of my exam problem.(You can do it after I get the anwser if you want.))

Well it is a vector, more than that I do not know.

Some of the others here might be able to help you.

Heureka and Alan are probably your best bets.

X is simply a vector whose first component is x and second component is y. The answer given means

x = c1*e3t - c2*e-t and y = -c1*e3t + 3c2*e-t

(Incidentally, it is the wrong answer!)
