0.75

First you need to figure out how to say the number in english. 0.75 is spoken in english is: "seventy-five one-hundredths" (2 places to the right of the decimal point is the hundreds place)

Turn what you said into a fraction; original number on top, the placevalue on bottom. $${\frac{{\mathtt{75}}}{{\mathtt{100}}}}$$ Now you need to reduce the fraction.$${\frac{{\mathtt{75}}}{{\mathtt{100}}}} = {\frac{{\mathtt{3}}}{{\mathtt{4}}}}$$. this can be tricky if you don't know your times tables. this one was done by deviding both the top and bottom by the same number, 25 in this case... you could divide by 5, and then 5 again.$${\frac{{\mathtt{75}}}{{\mathtt{100}}}} = {\frac{{\mathtt{15}}}{{\mathtt{20}}}} = {\frac{{\mathtt{3}}}{{\mathtt{4}}}}$$

Another example: 0.125 = one hundred twenty-five thousands =$${\frac{{\mathtt{125}}}{{\mathtt{1\,000}}}} = {\frac{{\mathtt{1}}}{{\mathtt{8}}}}$$ ($${\frac{{\mathtt{125}}}{{\mathtt{1\,000}}}} = {\frac{{\mathtt{25}}}{{\mathtt{200}}}} = {\frac{{\mathtt{5}}}{{\mathtt{40}}}} = {\frac{{\mathtt{1}}}{{\mathtt{8}}}}$$ divide by 5 three times)

Hi! 0.75 as a fraction would be 3/4ths. If it helps, think of quaters there are four quaters in a dollar and 75 is equal to three quaters. Put the two constants in fraction form to get the answer 3/4ths.
