-2(x-6)+7=35   simplify

-2x + 12 + 7 = 35     combine like terms

-2x + 19 = 35          subtract 19 from both sides

-2x = 16                  divide both sides by -2

x = -8

10+3(x+2)=31   simplify

10 + 3x + 6 = 31   combine like terms

16 + 3x = 31     subtract 16 from both sides

3x = 15         divide both sides by 3

x = 5

Let's use order of operations with CPhill's x=5

5+2=7

10+3*7

3*7=21

10+21=31

So CPhill=correct

And x=5
