I think you want the equation of a line that passes through the point (2, -2) and has a slope of 2/7 .

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y1 = -2     and     x1 = 2

Plug in.

y - (-2) = (2/7)(x - 2)

Solve for y and simplify.

y = (2/7)(x - 2) - 2

y = (2/7)x - (2/7)(2) - 2

y = (2/7)x - 4/7 - 14/7

y = (2/7)x -18/7
