What is 4 times 2n? I need this for my finals pls

Question is very unclear:

2⁴ * 2n = 32n

2⁴ *2ⁿ = 2⁴⁺ⁿ

2^4*2n= 2⁸ⁿ

I think it either means  

$(2*10^4)*2n=4n*10^4\\ or\\ 2e^4*2n=4ne^4$

I really dislike the e notation for scientific notation, it is always confusing.
