Yes I can!!!

Sorry it's become a habit, I've always been simplifying later. :)

I can't use latex since I'm on the kindle. It's hard to type...

48/1 * 5/12.        /12

4/1 * 5/1.

Done.

4*5=20

1*1=1

20/1.  = 20.

48= 48/1

$$\\\frac{48}{1}\times\frac{5}{12}\\\\
\frac{48\times5}{1\times12}\\\\
=\;\frac{240}{12}\\\\
Simplify\quad(\div\;both\;by\;12)\\\\
=\;\frac{20}{1}\\\\
=\;20$$
