78 - 5 x 9 + 5 Is 38 but I thought BIDMAS meant you would do 45 + 5 and then take it away from 78 making the answer 28? Can someone explain?
78 - 5 x 9 + 5 multiplication/division takes precedence over addition/subtraction as we move from left to right
So......we want to first multiply 5 x 9 = 45 .....so we have
78 - 45 + 5 now....just add/subtract as normal
33 + 5 =
