$$\textcolor[rgb]{1,0,0}{\mathbf{\dfrac{81^3}{4}\ =\ 81\ \times\ 81\ \times\ 81\ \div\ 4\ =\ 132860.25}}$$

What is 81^3/4

$$\\81^{3/4}\\
=81^{(1/4)*3}\\
=(81^{1/4})^3\\\\
Now\;\;81^{1/4} = \sqrt[4]{81}\;\;and\;\; 3*3*3*3=81\;\;so\;\; 81^{1/4}=3 \\\\
=(3)^3\\
=27$$

Of course you could have just done it on the calc in the first place but you should know how indices work. :)

Yes, since there are no brackets in the question anon answer is the correct one.

(I was just reading you mind - we get fo used to people not putting in necessary brackets)

I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that there must be a whole generation of junior HS mathematics teachers in the US who have taken it upon themselves to simplify mathematics where they think it is unnecessarily fastidious, and their first target has been the / division operator.

Don't worry, Anonymous......parentheses and brackets seem optional, too!!!
