You work out 1% by: 40 / 100 = 0.4

0.4 / 2 = 0.2 = 1/2%

9 1/2 / 1/2 = 19

19 * 0.2 = 3.8cm You gotta love MATHS!

if u do 9.5% you can move the decimal over so that it is .95 then multiply that by 40
