$$(2^3)^4\ =\ 2^3*2^3*2^3*2^3\ =\ 2^{12}$$

 

but

 

$$2^\(3^4\) =\ 2^{81}\\\\$$

Yes, there is also something called the power rule, which states that a^m^n=a^(m*n.)

For example, 3^4^5=3^20.
