What is a scale factor?

A scale factor is what you are scaling a shape by.

for instance if you have a triangle with the sides of 10" 11" and 12".(not sure if that is an actual triangle)

and the scale factor was 3, then you would multiply or divide all side by 3 to scale it to the size it wants.
