The pattern for i to a power is

i^1 = i

i^2 = -1

i^3 = -i

i^4 = 1

So, just divide 57 by 4 and see what the remainder is....in this case, it will be 1. So "1" in the pattern = i

(If there is no remainder, the answer is 1)
