what base logarithm is it? If it's base e, the exponential function would be the inverse of log.

For any other base, it would be that base to the power of 3.1 in your example

If it's log to the base 10, then the inverse is just 103.1

(log10(103.1) = 3.1*log10(10) = 3.1*1 = 3.1)

.
