what is the area of the drumhead, that has a diameter of 14 in

So the radius = 7 in

And, since we have 'circular" drumhead, it's area is given by

pi * (7)2          And using 3.14 for pi, we have

$${\mathtt{3.14}}{\mathtt{\,\times\,}}{\mathtt{49}} = {\frac{{\mathtt{7\,693}}}{{\mathtt{50}}}} = {\mathtt{153.86}}$$

And that answer is in sq in.
