What is the G.C.F OF 24, 23,78

The GCF of: 24, 23, 78 is 1. Why? Because 23 is a Prime number, which means it has no common factors with the other two.

23 is  relatively prime to the other two numbers..... thus, they have no GCF  [other than 1, of course ].....I have a feeling that you want to know what the LCM  - least common multiple is for these three numbers.......here's an easy way to do this.....

Factor these and put "like" factors in the same columns

23  =   23

24 =          2*3     *  3

78 =          2        *  3     *   13

Now......from each column, we want to select the factor with the higest power......if two or more factors have the same power, just select one of the factors

So we have

23, 2^3, 3, 13

Multiply all these together...... = 7176.......and this is the LCM

cool cool cool
