a tree cast a 25 foot shadow on a sunny day. if the angle of elevation from the tip of the shadow to the top of the tree is 32 degrees, what is the height of the tree?

So...we know an angle and an adjacent side....and we're looking for the opposite side...so we have....

tan (32°) = opp (height) / 25

height = 25tan(32°) = about 15.6 ft.
