What does it mean when making a square root calculation and an (i) appears in the answer eg sqrt(-9) = 3i

Because: sqrt(-9) =sqrt(9 x -1) =sqrt(9) x sqrt(-1) =3 x i =3i.

If you have NOT taken " complex numbers", then you will not understand it.
