Another way of looking at it:

Probability of no heads                                       1/23

Probability only the  first coin is a head                 1/23

Probability only the 2nd coin is a head                  1/23

Probability only the 3rd coin is a head                   1/23

-----------------------------------------------------------

Overall probability of fewer than 2 heads              4*1/23  =  4/8   =  1/2

ths is got to be easy. 1/2.

see, there are 2 sides in a coin

one is heads, the other is tails

theres 1/2 that says there will be more than 2 heads

theres another 1/2 that says that there will be less than 2 heads

overall, its a 1/2 (.5 or 50%) chance that there will be less than 2 heads when you toss or flip the coin 3 times
