Expand the following:
(x^3-4 x^2-12 x+9)/(x+2)

(x^3-4 x^2-12 x+9)/(x+2) = 9/(x+2)-(12 x)/(x+2)-(4 x^2)/(x+2)+x^3/(x+2):
Answer: |
| 9/(x+2)-(12x)/(x+2)-(4x^2)/(x+2)+x^3/(x+2)

                   x^2  - 6x

x + 2       [   x^3 − 4x^2 − 12x + 9  ]

                  x^2  + 2x^2

                 ------------------------------------

                          - 6x^2  - 12x

                          -6x^2   - 12x

                         -----------------------

                                                  9

So...the result is   x^2 - 6x  Remainder  9 / [ x + 2 ]
