We can use the sine, here

 

sin(60”)  = x / 4   multiply both sides by 4

 

4 sin (60°)   = x

 

4 * √3 / 2  =  x   =    2√3 m  = slant height

 

 

The area of the base =  

 

6 * (1/2) (8^2) sin (60° )  =

 

192 * √3 / 2  =

 

96√3 m^2
