what is the slope of (-4,8) and (6,6)
You have it upside-down Anonymous! The slope is (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1), so (6 - 8)/(6 - (-4)) = -2/10 = -1/5.
.
$$\frac{\left( 6-\left( -4 \right) \right)}{\left( 6-8 \right)}$$ = -5
Explanation:
x2-x1/y2-y1
Good spotting Alan :)
Anon, if you can remember that slope is rise/run then it is easy because only the y values can go up or down!
So the y values MUST be on the top!
