What is the value of the larger zero of the function defined by f(x) = 2x^2 + 7x - 4?

$${f}{\left({\mathtt{x}}\right)} = {\mathtt{2}}{\mathtt{\,\times\,}}{{\mathtt{x}}}^{{\mathtt{2}}}{\mathtt{\,\small\textbf+\,}}{\mathtt{7}}{\mathtt{\,\times\,}}{\mathtt{x}}{\mathtt{\,-\,}}{\mathtt{4}}$$

This factors into f(x) = (x + 4)(2x - 1)  so the two roots are x = -4 and x = 1/2.    1/2 is larger than -4, unless by "larger" you mean the one with the larger absolute value.
