Expanding the bracketed terms we have 

2x - 3x -1 = 4x - 2

or -x -1 = 4x - 2

add x to both sides

-1 = 5x - 2

add 2 to both sides 

1 = 5x

divide both sides by 5

x = 1/5  

(or x = 0.2)
