What is the value of x in the equation 8x^2 - 6x + 1 = 0? I've been stuck on this for half an hour, the equation doesn't seem logical.

8x^2 - 6x + 1 = 0     factor, if we can

(4x - 1) (2x - 1) = 0   setting each factor to 0, we get    x = 1/4   and x = 1/2
