This can be solved using PEMDAS!

 

Step 1: Distribute the - sign throughout the parenthesis.

            4x + 2 - 3 - 3x = 7

Step 2: Rearrange to combine like terms

            4x - 3x + 2 - 3 = 7

Step 3: Combine like terms on the left side. 

             x - 1 = 7

Step 4: Solve for x

             x = 8
