What is the y-intercept of the line that is parallel to the line y = 2x - 3 and passes through the point (6,11)?

In the form  y  = mx - b   ⇒      m  is the slope    and b  is the y intercept

So....the slope of the given line  is 2

And since parallel lines  have the same slope, the equation of our line is :

y  = 2 (x - 6)  + 11

y  = 2x  - 12   + 11

y  = 2x  - 1

So  the y intercept  is just   -1
