First you have to get rid of the -7 by adding 7 to both sides, leaving you with 6x=15. Next you would have to get rid of the 6 by dividing both sides by 6 (using the oposite sign, because in reality 6x=6*x). After you have divided both sides by 6, you will get the answer of x=5/2 or x=1.333333333333333333333333333333333333333333... Best just to keep it as a fraction.
