Divide the second equation through by 7 and we get that
-x + y = 2 which implies that y = 2 + x
Sub this into the first equation for y and we have that
2 + x = -2x - 13 rearrange as
3x = -15 divide both sides by 3
x = -5
And
y = 2 + (-5) = -3
