What's wrong with this quadratic equation?
the original is 6x^2+7x-3=0
find x

x=(-7+((49-4*6*-3)exp(.5)))/(2*6)
or
x=(7+((49-4*6*-3)exp(.5)))/(2*6)

What has gone wrong here? I plugged it into this site's calc and I got an answer that is very wrong. What's going on?

I fixed it.

In case anybody else is having this problem, the calculator on this website offers an exponent function, but it doesn't work; it successfully introduces an exponent, but doesn't allow a base, making powers unavailable. Instead use the ^ key to represent exponents.

A little arbitrary.

[input]6x^2+7x-3=0[/input]
6x^2+7x-3=0 equals (2x+3)*(3x-1)=0
[input](2x+3)*(3x-1)=0[/input]
