what should the size of the small pizza (S) be so that the total area of a large pizza is equal to the area of a small pizza plus the area of a medium pizza?

This is what I got but I am still having trouble with it.

with the small pizza, the equation should be

  (3.14(9^2) /4.=  14.13.

Medium pizza radius= (S + 3) / 2  so

A  = pi  [ (S + 3) / 2 ] ^2

Large pizza  radius =  ( S + 3 + 3) / 2 =  (S + 6) / 2 so

A  =   pi  [ ( S + 6) / 2 ] ^2

  So with the total area with the large pizza all you do is just put the 9 in to replace the s. So for the large pizza  pi  [ ( 9+ 6)^2 ]/ 4 = 31.27 The small pizza area plus the medium pizza area A  = pi  [ (9 + 3)^2 ] / 4=29.77

equal up the
