Betty had $40 in her pocket. She bought 12 identical bags of popcorn. Betty was left with $10 after buying the popcorn. What was the price, in dollars, of each bag of popcorn?
0.55
2.50
4.17
5.20
The answer is the second option 2.50 because if we multiply 2.50 or 2.5 by 12 to get the amount of 12 popcorns then it gives us 30 which when subtracted from 40 leaves 10 , so your answer is 2.50 !
Hope uve understood by now but if not then pls be free to ask!
each bag of popcorn cost 2.50 in total she spent 30.00 on popcorn so you could multiply 12 by 2.50 and get 30

And after you get $30, you add the money that was left and you get $40, the original amount. (I am just saying for checking the work)
