$cot\theta=\sqrt{8}=2\sqrt2$

But $sin\theta>0$ so theta could be in the 1st otr second quadrant so

$cot\theta=\pm2\sqrt2$

$cot(sin^{-1}(1/3))=\pm2\sqrt2$
