I was solving a few problems for X (Algerbraic expressions), and pretty flunked them all. For the first equation, i mathwayd the answer and realized I didnt use inverse operations. For the next equation, I made sure use inverse  operations. Ended up getting the wrong answer. Used mathway, and inverse operations wasn't used. I wish I could show the problems but I cant. What is the purpose of inverse operations, when is it used, and what is the signifigance of "undoing" an operation?

Also, I'd like to add I'm pretty bad at math and I'm interested in relearning it from the beginning. I'd like to fully understand mathematic concepts, its purposes, rather than just knowing how to use them. So I would really appreciate a good  & detailed answer if possible. smiley
