Which equation best represents this data set?
(-4, -4.8) ( -3, -8.2) ( -2, -9.1) ( -1, -8.1) ( 0, -4.7) ( 1, .3)
A. y=1.1x2+4.2x+4.9
B. y=1.1x2+4.2x-4.9
C. y=1.1x+4.2
D. y=1.1x-4.2
Look at the graph of the data points, here :
https://www.desmos.com/calculator/o7kuhjqe3b
Neither "C" nor "D" [ both linear ] will model the data
It appears from the graph that "B" is the best choice
And...If the red dot is (-4,-4.8) ..then choice B fits just right!
Thanks, hectictar, for catching that mis-type. I fixed it ...and you're correct.....perfect fit....!!!
