a(b+c) = a*(b+c) and (b+c)a = (b+c)*a

 

 

Remember that:

a(b+c) = a*b + a*c, which yields:

a( b*X + C ) = a*b*X + a*C

 

Mathematicians say that " Multiplication (*) distributes over addition (+)". 

 

If it's nothing outside the paranthesis, you can remove it:

(a+b+c) = a+b+c
