why is a circle 360 degrees? Please explain

That sounds logical, thanks Geno :)

I wonder how many 'hours' they split their day into?    

12 and 24 both go into 360 and for modern time zoning this is very convenient.

In the middle east, several centuries BCE, when astronomers started looking at the skies to aid in navigation, they divided the circle into 360 parts, probably because 360 has so many divisors. 360 can be evenly divided into 2 parts, 3 parts, 5 parts, 8 parts, etc.
